I won't give you a recap of Blog'er as much as I would like to. That's because, by now, almost all the other attendees have told the tales and provided more insights than my currently sluggish brain can keep step with. These Blog'ery women are good women and I put my trust in their words. Oh, but that doesn't mean I won't post a few embarrassing and a few more fabulous shots from the weekend. 'Cause every picture tells a story.
The setting:

Don'tcha wish your region was hot like mine?
Sweet/Salty: the warmth of that smile says it all.
A standard weekend pose.
Sin spinning yarns; Andrea laughing. A common sight.
Hannah: smiling and nursing--all weekend long. Beautiful baby James is sadly cropped away for the sake of modesty.
Thor and Bon at the Kiwi Café. As I type, I am finishing the last of the sinful treats I brought home.
Wishing to remain obscured...
The academic lets loose.
No caption needed.
Kate shoots the moon.
When I pulled into the drive at about 4 yesterday, I wondered if Miss M would run into my arms or shun me for having buggered off for so long. The portents were not good. MadDad knew my ETA but the two of them were not playing out front in anticipation of my return. I glanced toward the window: no sign of them watching from the front chair. I gathered my things and unlocked the door, fully expecting them to be nursing the late afternoon lull with a Max and Ruby dvd.
Instead I was greeted with the biggest grin I have ever seen. Miss M was holding a rumpled paper bag at arm's length and she shouted "Surprise!!!!" She asked me to help her put a ribbon on her gift for me. I obliged and then I unwrapped it. She and MadDad had bought me a 2 pack of Lindor chocolates and a container of Burt's Bees lip balm as a welcome home gift. "I'm glad you're home," she grinned and repeated. She then stuck by my side for the rest of the day. MadDad assured me that they had fun all weekend long--but who wouldn't when you go out for hotel brunches every single day and spend the rest of your day at the park?
Today, Miss M and I took a two-and-a-half-hour long afternoon nap, both of us sleeping off our independence hang-over, happy, once again, to be in each other's arms.
And you tell me...did she like the gift I brought back?

Now, because it's been all blah, blah, bloggy around here, you tell me about your favourite coming home stories.

32 hats in the ring:
love the shot of kate shooting the moon. and that ever elusive niobe, LOL!
but the best shots, i think, are of your winged progeny. she seems to have grown six inches in as many months!
I hope no one ever dares clip her wings. Look at the sparkle in her eyes!
Oh my god, I have blogger AND wing envy!!
i thought of you guys all weekend....it sounds like it was entirely, entirely lovely.
I bet she will wear those wings day in and day out. What an incredible time you must have had!
oh, she is so sweet.
and thanks for pictures. it makes me wish I was there even more, but I'm still glad to see them!
I have none. The kids never let me leave.
Love the wings! My sons would love a pair.
'Ray Blog'Er.
Thanks for the snapshots. I am glad is was lovely weather, too. We had such a nice sunny weekend and I wondered if the Canadian Victoria Day Gods would really cough up such pleasantness for a couple of locales.
Lovely.
ps. I have no come home to girl stories. I don't go anywhere. Someday.... soon.
And, that's a really sass pic of Bon rolling a dube! I mean I know she's generous of spirit but wow.
Ha ha, Bon rolling a dube...
When I came home, I just cracked the door open and Swee'pea yelled, "Mama's back!!!" at the top of his lungs and came running. He took a few minutes before he permitted a hug, but then he was all over me. It was great.
Oh my, I adore that last shot of Miss M prancing through the neighbourhood. She's such a sprite. Something tells me she'll grow up opinionated and feisty and full of mischief... hmmm... just like her mama.
It was so great to hang out.
It was great fun. And the pictures are lovely. It's too bad I missed the shopping trip that procured the homecoming story. (sigh)
She LOVES those wings. I LOVE little kids so much.
And wow, that looks like a great time. I'm glad for you guys. And jealous for me. But mostly glad that you had fun.
I'm glad you all had such a nice time. Next time you'll have to fly me in. LOL!
KayTar would go nuts for those wings, so I am sure Miss M is in love, too.
I'm so glad you guys had such a rollicking good time. I wish I could have been there. I so wanted to be...But I'm glad I got to see pictures. The setting is gorgeous.
And those wings are pretty nifty. Miss M. looks so very pleased.
I don't really have any stories, exactly. I have now been away from Phoebe twice. The first time she was too busy having fun with her daddy down at her grandparents to miss me much. The second time I was gone for just over a week. She was shy when she saw me at the airport, and tried to keep her distance. But I grabbed her in for hugs and smooches anyhow, after which she held my face for a bit, looking at me and saying "Mommy came back!"
I got kind of the standard "Mama!" when I got home, but the best part was the next morning when Bub was astonished to see me all over again and leapt from his chair at the breakfast table to give me a hug. Then he snuck into my lap and when I feigned anger ("What are you doing here?") he responded "Because I love you ... so much."
Love the wing shots. I am pretty dern jealous about the rest. We had rain the whole Vday weekend.
Homecoming stories? Always the same. My girls would talk, without pause for breath, for most of my first day back. Until they reached their teens. Um huh.
Oh, I'm so sorry I missed it... Looks like it was too much fun.
I'm glad you had such a nice welcome home. I love the gift you got for Miss M. Fancy wings.
so pleased that she can't even sit still for a photo. that's a good call, mad.
and i'm sadistically following up with every blogger who posted about this past weekend's events. because as much as i can't stand that i wasn't there, i can't stand not knowing how it was even more.
sigh.
You mean, you don't want my boobies on your site? I'm hurt.
I kid, I kid. Just like when I give Sin a hard time for the whole ketchup / omelette thing.

It looks like a delightful backdrop for a meeting of wild women.
My favourite coming home story was when we picked up two-year-old Drew from his grandparent's house the day after getting out of the hospital with newborn Hailey. He was in their bathroom standing on a chair, intently focused on washing his hands. His dad and I crept quietly in and crouched down to his level, our heads on either side of his. He looked up, saw our reflections in the mirror and the hugest smile splayed across his face as he threw a wee arm around each of our necks, tears of joy welling in his eyes. It was the first time he had spent a few days away from us and he was just so happy to have us back.
Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time...so jealous!
I'm even more jealous of the beautiful fairy wings. Why, oh why, don't they make them for adults?? I could use some of that sparkle.
Sounds like a great weekend and even better home-coming. We have wings in our house too and they always bring a smile to my face. Impish girls flying around...kinda melts ya a bit.
Jealous and enchanted!
as I sat in the parking lot outside Dunkin' Donuts, I swore I smelled sea air coming in through the sunroof, instead of the usual bus exhaust. I know it was.
That shot of you taking the shot of Kate...very fine...very!
Isn't it nice and well, surprising to come home and be surprised?
Someone needs to tell Wheels on the Bus Emily that *she* is the parent. Now I sound just like the Mormon deacon who accosted us in SLC .... that was easy.
Kate looks so much like Kirsten Dunst, only prettier and way more awake.
Why are there no pictures of Mad here? Woe is me.
Those wings are wonderful!
Glad you all (seemingly) had fun!
(I have no coming home stories to share, fortunately or not)
Are those women lucky that they got a whole weekend of you :)
Jealous! Lovely!
And Miss M? Heartstopping. Really.
What great pictures! And, speaking purely egotistically, I'm particularly pleased with the one of me.
Looks like LOTS of fun - and what a beautiful backdrop, too. :)
